Acquired a 12 lb. chunk of B.C. jade , looks to be a little fractured. Wanting to be creative with it ,but having a brain fart .Any ideas out there ??
Thanks for looking. Gary

Gary, that has nice colors but I think you are gonna find that is too fractured and "splintery" to do much with it. That one definitely has the fibers in a consistent plane so you will have to work that direction. I had one like it and even after cutting in different planes, I had to basically scrap the whole thing. Good luck.

This piece IS splintered all the way through , going to take the air chisel and grinders to it . See what pops out , no cost to me ......it is just a rock Thanks for the reply..........Gary

watching with interest, don't forget to tell us the rest of the story! The rest of the story............... Tried to cut along the grain to get 2 pieces hopeing to carve/shape it. Unfortunately all I got was a bunch of broken chunks , will rethink ......maybe a block statue

Jade inspiration update. Managed to get a solid piece out of the center, put the broken chunks together as an Inushuk.
Thanks for looking Gary
