Been pretty slow in this section lately and it has been over a month since I have wrapped anything so I spent some time last night making a couple Fordite cabs and wraps. These all need to be burnished still so the silver may look dull in the photos. Got a pudding stone done while I was at it Thanks for looking Chuck

Absolutely perfect cabbing on the Detroit Agate. Very impressive. I just love that stuff. Reminded me I have a few I need to make settings for.

I did some more this week and posted them in the cabbing section. Got 10 more going right now that should be done this weekend. Check these ones out. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/74187/got-fun-new-materialChuck

Chuck, my God those are just perfect! At a gem show, a guy showed me a big piece of rough and for the life of me I can't imagine how you guys can get those kinds of cuts out of that material. Well done, sir!
As for my pieces, they're going to take some thought because of course all but one are not remotely flat on the back.

Well done, sir! As for my pieces, they're going to take some thought because of course all but one are not remotely flat on the back. With the rough chunks of Fordite I always start by chopping them into more manageable cab size pieces I take the cut up pieces to the flat lap And grind one side flat and try to make the back surface parallel to the paint layers. Now that I have a flat surface I can trace out my shapes. I do not make the front flat. I do not grind the tops flat but I did slightly grind off a few layers of the front just to peek before I dopped and cabbed them Chuck

Wow, what a great presentation! Thank you so much. Just looking at rough gives no idea of the beauties that lay inside.

Yep, some pieces require a lot of imagination to yield good cabs with good patterns. I have had this piece over a year and it remains uncut. When I run out of the easy stuff I might tackle the big gnarly ones. Chuck

No idea how you'd even begin to envision what lies beneath;
