What is the best way to cut Marfa Boquet and Woodward Ranch biscuits? One will expose flower boquets and the other, beautiful red plumes! Sheri

Is that why they are called biscuits?

Yes, glue to a board and then cut it. Do a web search on rock cutting and that may help. It tells what type of glue to use.

Trey tumbled them to better see which way to orient cut. They are small enough to cut by hand I think. The finished ones he showed me were all finished flat (like a lot of Montanas) because the inclusion is so thin.

They are small enough to cut on my tile saw. I am not sure which orientation to cut them. They are flat on the bottom. Do I cut along the bottom or from top to bottom. The bouquet are the same, not sure if the flowers are along the bottom skin or if they project up into the agate. I don't want to ruin the flowers. Sheri

Woodward biscuits are easier to cut than Marfa stuff but both often have the best plume running parallel to the top and bottom and therefore have to be cut open like biscuits. Thing that, to me, makes some Marfa bouquet tougher to cut is the plume is just under the skin, in a thin layer, and often more porous. Many bouquets are much nicer done as a doublet or triplet.....Mel

I use good Ol' Carpenters glue (Elmers),works like a charm and inexpensive..Leave it set for a week (To get a good cure)..Can cut it off the board, stick or etc,or just let it soak in water for a few days (it will pop off)..
