Hey look I did not forget how to do a full wire wrap. I don't do too many of those anymore so it was almost fun Looks like Montana agate but I thought the slab came from some blackskin agates I got from broseph82This is a really nice cab I made from a slab of mary ellen jasper I got from toiv0Petoskey stone - most likely from one of Jugglerguy's hounding trips. Thanks for looking Chuck

Very nice, you did that Mary Ellen proud. Thanks- that was a really nice slab and big enough to get a few nice pendants out of it. Did you find that one yourself? Chuck

Chuck I collected some at one point but that one is from a trade of super nice material. I really like the smaller nodules we find in gravel pits, a bigger variety of color usually. The mines and dumps are closed now to collect. We either have to know someone or sneak on. I am not so sneaky anymore.

All are beauties, but that Mary Ellen jasper... WOW! Does it have anything in common with stromatolites? Oh yes it does, I see while reading your previous answers.

no, most jasper is jasper... this just happens to have turned to jasper as it fossilized. stromatolite fossils may be the one of the most common on earth in one form or another. Kona dolomite is also fossil stromatolite. There are many other forms as well.
