So I have a Thumler Model B that I have loaded to 7/8 with various sizes of agate and jasper. I know that some will finish sooner than others as time passes.
As I remove rocks and add rocks/grit to maintain level, this should be a continuous cycle correct?
There is really no set start or stop time for the ENTIRE barrel. It's contents are always changing yet it's never empty and sitting on the shelf... Always tumbling.
Does that make sense?

Yep, you got it. That is why I can never answer the common question of "how long did that batch take to tumble". I bought 5 pounds of tiger eye at the beginning of the year and some of it was ready for stage two after 3 weeks and some is still running now 10 weeks later. Been pulling some out every week for the last 10 weeks.

Thanks Chuck! That makes perfect sense! I think I have pulled out 6 small stones after 10 days. I added 5 lbs of Montana Moss Agate yesterday and the churning continues. I'd love to start the Lot-O up, but don't think it's worth it for 6 stones. One thing this new hobby is teaching me is patience.

You may not want to know how many pounds you will need to have rolling in stage one at all times to feed the lot-o every week all year long. I know that number Chuck

I have to run my Model-B for several weeks or months to pull enough rock to start up my UV-10. It takes al lot of rotary capacity to feed a hungry vibe.

Thanks All! I just ordered bought 10lbs of red snakeskin agate, petrified wood, and jasper mixed from a guy on eBay who looks to be from Boise from his location. Looks like he has good feedback. The price was right too. 10lbs for $25 shipped.
