Wow, the home of the puppiehouse. (and the Cards) Wiz, we don't seem to have much in the way of either rocks or rockshops. I take that back about the rock, my back yard rock tumbles up pretty nice, and rock along the rivers and such is pretty -- lots of what I call cave rock -- the geode-y looking stuff with crystals inside that seems to be all over the place in streams and gravel beds in cave country. Lots and lots of fossils. I pick them up all the time, found a nice shell in backyard rock a couple days ago. I picked up some really pretty colored stratified rock a few weeks ago along one of the river bluffs -- many fossils -- I'm tumbling it up now, it didn't really feel like limestone and it certainly acted like a hard rock in the coarse grind, where it didn't do anything forever, now I've got it in polish and it looks like some of the strata are hard rock that polishes and others are soft rock that doesn't. I have the same effect with a lot of my backyard rock.
The only shop I know of is in the way-out burbs and I've never heard anything about it that led me to believe it was worth the trip.
