Jalapeno halves are stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped with bacon. Most places, these are affectionately known as ABT's, or Atomic Buffalo Turds

Jalapeno halves are stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped with bacon. Those Bacon Poppers look yummy. The Jalapenos that I grow on the coast turn out sweet instead of hot. Must be the weather. Do you harvest red or green? The common consensus is jalepeños are highly variable in heat. BUT, i have found red jalapeños have quite consistent heat. Its the green ones that vary. Green ones picked early seem to be 'sweet', but if they are close to blush and color about to change they are HOT. Señor amygdule, maybe let a batch mature more and see if my theory is correct, or is helpful in any way. Buenos noches,

If you want them hot, limit the water they receive, and also hold back on the fertilizer. Heat level is extremely variable!
