Were the chrysocollas easier to work with all the agate in there?

Were the chrysocollas easier to work with all the agate in there? Fordite is fairly straightforward to work. It is typically pretty soft but once you have the feel for it on the first cab, you can pretty much fly through it. This was older material and is actually a little brittle, but it is still very easy to work with. I cut 9 slabs Monday and free-handed all the cabs. I think I had all 9 done in a little over an hour. Colla wood can be trickier. Chrysocolla, malachite, azurite, common opal, the petrified wood itself, opalised woood, all have different MOHS. It will undercut fast if you aren't paying attention to it. The last colla I had would take a semi-gloss shine on the better pieces. I slabbed 18 pounds of the wood these cabs came from and so far it all takes a wet-glossy polish. The hardest part of working with the colla in this post was photographing it...
