Just getting rid of rocks I know I have no use for any time soon. If you are a nice person, maybe you'd send a little finished product my way.
I have some KY petrified wood of differing sizes, mostly white to brown/earthy colors. When polished, looks pretty decent.
Got a few pieces of CA petrified wood too, more brittle than the KY variety, yet when polished produces a fantastic array of colors and patterns. One of my other threads holds a small gallery and shows some pieces.
Off topic, when you travel Greyhound, pack light, or the ticket agent will make you drop a few pounds from your cargo, what have you. Or you can pay a $45.00 fee for being over the weight limit of 50 pounds. I was unfortunate enough to travel with two others, and all our suitcases were overweight because of my mineral specimens! Oh boy, I was furious, I had to literally open all three suitcases and start throwing away the rocks I had less interest in! Yes, it was for the safety of whoever puts your luggage onto the bus, but man! Another thing, Miller transportations has the owner of the luggage pack theirs onto the bus themselves! So there is no point in weighing luggage!
Guys, I also have KY jasper/agate, some pieces are big, others small. I'm trying to get rid of the bigger pieces that can make slabs. If you want pictures, you gotta wait. There's a couple chunks that are conglomerate with varying colors, might make some cool slabs. They come out of Jackson County, KY.
