Felspar based clay rich in aluminum oxide from middle Georgia. Also known as kaolin. I use it for a slurry thickener in the rotary. Too fine to do any rounding, but probably helps smooth rocks on last coarse grit run before going to AO 500 in the vibe. Very slick, great cutting lubricant. As found, hammer broken: wetted: Mixed with a grout mixer: Dried and broken into dose size pieces:

For no reason. There was no need to mix it. Other than throw white mud balls. It is china clay, probably the right mix for firing.
