I believe this stuff is called cladapora. I tumbled it in my Lot-O with dry corn cob media. Some crinoids in this one. This one is different. It's a coral, but I'm not sure what type. I don't think I've ever found another just like this.

Those are awesome!!! Did you preshape them before the tumble? I usually do on these type of fossils and (or) rocks... I have a few I slabbed too, haven't tumbled them yet,but I like your way better... Great work....Two thumbs up

Great work....Two thumbs up These are beach rocks, so they're pretty well preshaped when I get them. They're also soft, so it doesn't take long to finish shaping them in the tumbler.

Those turned out well. Your dry polishing technique seems to really be working.

I think I did two days in 500 and two days in polish.

JugglerguySorry Rob. I'm only tumbling agates. I forget how hard it is to get wet polish on softer stones. I really like the unique patterns on the stones. I kind of put my foot in my mouth. They're really cool. I should read 100% of the previous posts.

They're really cool. I should read 100% of the previous posts. No problem. The good news is that these only take a week or two from beginning to end. The bad news is, they're not agates.

JugglerguyNice looking batch Rob. Can't wait to see the final product. Um, that is the final product. Just a thought, some people put mineral oil on their rocks with a clean rag,and work in it...Most tun out pretty nice and shiny...
