Testing the waters on some Montana agate.... Just slabbed the ends and one slab, to see what they looked like, for future cutting.... This one was boring,so just did one slab and than cut it at a 45 degree angle to get more color from it....Leave it as a slabbed rough... It has a fracture showing, after the cut,but its healed..... The small ones are the ones that will surprise you! Nice waterlines in the cuts and uniformed, can make earrings and etc from this little guy... This one here, had potential of being an "Iris",as I cut a few slabs of of it,but just wasn't in the cards....So I just 45 degree cut on him and leave it at that.... Can see that it wants to start out as an "Iris"... I tried to light it,every way I could try,no "Iris" LOL So cut it at a 45 degree angle..... This one was a tough cut! Only a inch to place with on top and three inches on bottom (weird shaped agate.....) It turned out nice those, but will have to put one on a piece of wood to finish it.... This one will be glued on wood and back cut,to a slab...
