These guy sell overpriced stones and most are fake or glass filled I bought a sapphire they claimed to be retailing at $7500 i paid $3200. I felt some security after using the gem sheriff option they came back saying sll was good and all discriptions and values were accurate. once ot arrived i noticed problems both the seller and gemrockauctions tried to convince me there was nothing wrong. I took it to a certified dealer and they too me the value was maximum of $750 after a huge fight with them evetually they gave my money back but i was still out $400 in postage and lab fees. After writing a negative review gemrockauctions gave me a $200 credit to take down the review I accepted better than liaising it all. Then I bought a diamond once it arrived got it checked and turns put it was worth half of what I paid also the color was a J not a G and it was full of inclusions. Once I complained they suspended my account and don't care yo help me. I would not suggest anyone use them they are full of dodgy SELLERS and admins are no help either

In the beginning, there was opalauctions - and all was good. A family-run business and website, with a great forum. Over the years it has grown into the multiple "auctions" sites it is today, and seemed to change (a lot) as it grew.
I think it just outgrew the abilities of it's creators to maintain the standards they had in the beginning. I had done business with the creators of opalauctions before they started it, and never had a problem. They were wonderful people to deal with in my experience.
