Had the police called in past. Gun battles at the jamesp farm. Sound felt deep in chest, this variety has up to 3/4" walls. Farm boy boredom. The burnt area was a grove that died from a freak freeze 3 years ago. Reclamation of land is very hard work with a bamboo grove. Day 19, hand about healed. After car sat on it. Trusty 1986 Big Red 3 wheeler with +15,000 hours hard duty finally said no more. Guessing the centrifugal clutch gave out. One of the most bulletproof vehicles I ever owned. Got 4, 2 running and 2 for parts. Tony the backwoods mechanic going to tackle the fix. Go Tony !! White blooms are dogwood trees. Trailer a home made, one of two. Three wheelers pull them around.

James, your hand is looking good! You certainly dodged a BULLET there. Next time, let SIL call AAA, lol.
Maybe why the centrifugal clutch gave out?

That video is better than some of the movies I've seen lately, think I'll put it on a loop. It sounds like someone walking on very loud bubble wrap.

Hand looking good! I'm glad.
Didn't expect the snap, crackle and pop of dead bamboo burning.

rockpickerforever Jean, that machine has two clutches. A centrifugal that allows you to switch gears by lowering the engine speed and a normal manual clutch. There is no clutch lever on the handle bar. hopefully it is the first clutch showing when the cover is pulled, that would be the centrifugal clutch.

Fun thread. Nice fingers. Get quad runner. Have had a couple Scott. Problem is that they are not as narrow for doing my aisles. Tried the smaller quads, but these days they are 200 cc or less for such a narrow width and do not have much power. The Yamaha 200 had zippo power. There is a Nam vet down the road that loves working on old Honda 250's. Got stacks of old ones. I have another Big Red in storage but with very low hours. Thinking about handing it to him to do a full renovation.

So glad to see all 4 fingers still at their previous length! Amazing how well they are healing. Love the sound of the burning bamboo. Is the distance that the video is shot from the prescribed distance for avoiding burning bamboo shrapnel?

So glad to see all 4 fingers still at their previous length! Amazing how well they are healing. Love the sound of the burning bamboo. Is the distance that the video is shot from the prescribed distance for avoiding burning bamboo shrapnel? Those fingers went straight into tannic water Ann, work season up and going. Never had an infection from the Withlacoochee swamp water. Okeefenokee water is drinkable due to the tannic acids. Has to be a great anti infection agent. Me glad too Ann, thanks. They were so flat when the car came off them, figured the joints were crushed beyond repair. Human body amazing. The main reason for the distance is the heat. The grove that froze was 1 inch bamboo. But in burning it the heat cooked the outer edge of the 3 inch bamboo grove. So the chain saw was incorparated to fall the big burnt canes into the burn area of the 1 inch canes. The fire seen was done after a rain so the flames would not be so dang hot. However, it got hotter and burned faster than desired. If within 10 feet the coals do pop on you. After that all is safe.

Gunfight at the Bamboo Corral? How's the feeling and mobility in your fingers? Great mobility Larry. Thanks. Still in disbelief. When instinct told you they were destroyed the mind is hard to convince otherwise. Was thinking the same theme, 'Gunfight at Bamboo Coral'. similar minds
