I just picked up a lot of dinosaur bone fragments off eBay. I found 1 thread asking about tumbling it but nothing from anyone who has tried it. So, has anyone tried it?

I've tried it with somewhat poor results. May vary depending on bone quality, but in the batch I ran, the cell walls were apparently softer stuff than the agate interior and the resulting stones undercut badly where the cell walls were. The resulting stones were not all that pretty. I cabbed some of the same bone and the results were quite nice as the wheels seemed to avoid the serious undercutting. You might just throw a couple of pieces in with another batch and check the results before running a large batch. You may want to use a trim saw and try cabbing the larger chunks instead of tumbling them.....Mel

I'm thinking with Dino bone,it's an expensive mistake if they didn't tumble well....(ruined)... AS Mel said, cabbing would be better and it's a controlled result...
