Ok,probably in the next couple of months,I will be making a new blade purchase.......I thought I had a MK-301,but found out that the blade I have, came from "Barrance Diamond Products,Inc. " out of Torrance,California.....It's a 14" x .070 x 3/4" ........... I like the blade a lot,it cut many 100's of rock!!!!!! It's days are numbered,as I'm having to have to dress it more often.... Have been looking at the MK-301's and am satified on the reviews of the blade... Need any comment on the sizes of measurement of blade.... I cut a lot of agate,Rio's,Thundereggs,Montana's,etc, plus petwood and jaspers...........Should I go with the MK-301 14"x.065 x 1" or the MK- 301 14"x .080" x 1" ?? Is there much difference between the sizes, besides the waste of the width of the cut? Thank you for any or all opinions..................Thumbs up PS: Are there any Companies that build up the diamonds on the worn blades, such a waste if not....... No,I don't want to do it myself,if there is a way...LOL I would than use it as a back up blade......

MK and Barranca are basically the same company, but the older 301 is not the same as the new ones. The old 301 blades were a notched AKA continuous rim while the new ones are sintered like the 303 but with small sintered cleats. I have 2 301 blades, a 12 and a 14, but the cuts on my workhorse HP14 are not as smooth as I like lately so I need to rebuild it before I put the new blade on it, and the blade on the Lortone 12 is like new so it will be awhile there too.
As far as blade thickness, if you like to push the limits of your blade with rocks that are on the big side go with the thicker one. If you also have an 18 or larger I would go thinner and never cut anything larger than 4" tall in the 14 unless it's soft spendy rock.
