Depends on if it's white clay or red clay you're using for your slurry. I'm paying attention.

1-1.5 cups coarse grit/15 pounds rock is a good start
That is probably just a sharp edge rounding tumbler. The shear weight of the rocks knocks of the edges, like for tiles/flagstone the like.
