A couple weeks ago Christa got a call from her step father who lives a couple hours north of us. He was hanging out with his friends at his favorite haunt (a donut shop) when someone came in asking if anyone was into rocks. The guy explained that his father who is 95 used to sell at rock shows and had a bunch of stuff in his old work truck that they (the son) wanted to get rid of. She got his phone number, I called and set up a time to come look at it. The son didn't know much about it but he definitely sounded like a motivated seller.
Went up last Saturday. The old work truck was an old U-Haul with a locked roll up door, and several custom shelves built on each side filled with boxes. The guy started handing boxes down to me, I'd open the lid for a peek, then stack them on the ground behind me. When all was said and done there was about 65 flats/boxes and 5 display cases. He asked if I thought $700 was a fair price. From what I saw unloading everything I agreed it was a fair price and the deal was done.
Funny thing, I went to open the tailgate of my truck to load everything and felt a snap. It wouldn't open! I have a camper shell so I had to stack a few boxes over the gate, push them back, climb over the gate and stack, climb back over, rinse, repeat
Needless to say my back was sore as could be by the time I was done
Finally had everything in the truck and headed back home. Here is what it looked like when I got home last Saturday night
