I bought this little piece out of curiosity more than anything - I can read the first word "flower" but I can't figure out the second word. I've googled every combination I can think of trying to ID the material. Any fresh eyes or ideas what that says?

Yeah, I was thinking "Flower GA" ( flower garden) followed by a price , maybe 2.00 as that one symbol does look like a number "2". Doesn't look like Flower Garden agate though. Looks more like a cut off a mossy Oregon T-egg....Mel

Maybe it is flower garden and simply notes where he had it. I agree with Mel. Or, Bull Canyon?

My guess is GA for Georgia and the date/year.

I thinking that is the place it was found and the year, because When my kids where small they always came home with a pocket full of rocks and one time they gave me one. I put the date and what kid. Just a grey rock but the date meant something to me. 1992 and I still have it. That's why I still say place. Date.

The wierd thing is we have a pretty solid ID of a type of thunderegg in Oregon.*** So wtf? Idk. *** Tommy I was thinking that rattlesnake stuff, but see Moss bed too..

I can't even read it standing on my head. Don't know of similar GA material. I have seen some old Maury Mt. moss oriented in long parallel strands just like that in the same colors. If there are any remnants of rhyolite shell, then a thunderegg is certainly likely. I think the last 4 digits might be 2002 or 2004 (too many digits for a price). Perhaps it is not GA but CIA, and represents some new way of passing messages between spies using rocks. Now that you've posted this, the black helicopters will come.
