Odd shaped, simply rounded it and beveled the edges. I am bearing down rather hard on the rock, to remove material as required. Way more that a tile saw blade could handle. Also using it as an edge chipper for faster material removal. Sort of a chipping hammer without the hammer. Those diamond cups are designed to last under much higher pressures. Many are made with aluminum backings to dissipate heat. Rarely does this one ever get hot, so this method is slow to wear the wheel down. It would be better if the work surface were 1.5 to 2 inches instead of 7/8 inch. Such wheels are coming out in the industry, and without notches, but continuos. Wheels come in coarse medium and fine. Coarse being 25-45 grit depending on manufacturer. This one claims 30-40 grit.
