The bearings went out on my saw - not sure what caused it but the first symptom I observed before the wobbles showed up was it leaking a lot of oil out the pulley hole. I don't know if the wobble caused the gaskets to fail or the other way around. I wonder if the lite mineral oil I use caused the arbor cover seals to fail and let oil into the bearings - if anyone has opinions on any of this please lay them on me.
I'm getting ready to put it back together and have a bunch of questions - first time I've done this.
How liquid tight I need to make the arbor cover?
It has two thick felt gaskets on the pulley and blade entrances - I will probably remake these myself. Will any felt work for this? Is there a better material?
Would you guys recommend using a good form-a-gasket on the edges of the tray where it screws to the bearing plate?
Thanks for reading.

I would bet mineral oil caused no problem. Those bearing were almost certainly sealed.lube sealed in and grit sealed out. Use gasket or felt to control mess. Whatever works for you. For the future, I suggest not over greasing bearings Too much grease can damage bearing seals. That's all I can offer. Tom
