Nice day for cabbing! Never mind my dirty nails. I haven't even washed my hands, yet. Really awesome red jasper agate and something else. I got it from Hubrocks a long time ago. I hoard it. I see a couple scratches that I missed! Doh! A piece of scrap dino bone. It's only so so but I can't bring myself too throwing this stuff out. Linda Marie Moss from Tommy. I have been drooling over this stuff since he first introduced it. It is STUNNING! Turns the water a beautiful turquoise. Willow Creek. This one really upset me. Where the light reflection is was a nice maroon sun. It was so cool. It ground out. I went ahead and finished it anyway. The eBay dino bone. Not too bad for the price, but not what it was supposed to be. More bloodstone... that little white spot on the bottom opened up in the grind. Bummer. Some more cool stuff from Hub in Washington. I don't know what it is but it's neat. Better than the picture. Some nice gemmy oj with druzy. Thanks for looking!

All good as usual. However, my favorite is the ebay dino bone!
I think the blood stone is the best I've seen. Lots of blood.

I have to go with the bloodstone, this is what that material is supposed to be! Everything I've seen on the market over the past 20 years either has no red, or else the red is in big blobs.
THIS stone looks like stuff from the 1970s!

Though not what you expected, that Ebay dino bone turned out nice. I like the capture in the Linda Marie also, very pretty. Great work!

OK, I like the willow creek, if picking favorites. But also, I like them all. And very nice nails too, that's the best part. :)

You have nails? I grind mine away...
The dino bone is a major success. Would you fill the vug in the OJ or leave it as is?

Outstanding pieces! Question on the dino bone...Is is comprised of material that has a different hardness value? The polish is beautiful and is seems like the light is reflecting off very slightly raised surfaces that are part of the cell structure?

The polish is beautiful and is seems like the light is reflecting off very slightly raised surfaces that are part of the cell structure? Every gem bone is different. They should be fully agatized, but they aren't always. This one was really hard, harder than a lot of them, hence the polish. Yes, they usually have different hardnesses between the cells and cell walls. That's what you are seeing. I was real happy with this polish even with the different hardnesses. Gem bone is so hard to get now, I'm happy when they polish so well.
