Glad it worked out for you. Sure wanted some of those high end Montana's but just couldn't get my finger to pull the trigger. Now I know why and am glad my finger was smarter then my brain. If I remember right that was another 1st post being wanting to sell! I know there is no 50 post rule but remember a number of 1st posters as sales going bad. Sometimes not right away but over time because the main interest is sales not sharing of knowledge.............................MrP Thanks MrP! catmandewe has montanas. I believe at a lower price. I got my eye on those...

Do y'all know if Tony has MT agate slabs? I don't want to bug him unless he has slabs.

Last week I went to MT to hunt fossils and agate. I spent Saturday with Wendy and her boyfriend. They were quite knowledgeable and very good hunting partners. I showed Wendy the jasper that I occasionally get some plume out of. It is rare and very hard to determine if it will be in a piece until you cut it.

Then it must be safe to assume she knew the rocks in my images above are certainly NOT jasper. Willful misrepresentation is no bueno. I had hope she was ignorant. Explains why she didnt bother to get ahead of the problem.

I thought something might have been up @shotgunner Jimi, what is strange is she did end up doing the right thing. She claimed she was unaware of the nature of her stones. I was, seemingly, the first to point this out. I thought if she felt her reputation was important, should could contact each client, give full refund, and then make a public apology. Had she done this, we would all respect her, and she would be a valued seller. Instead, after doing the right thing, the wrong way, with me, she disappears. Sad, really. This is a great bunch of folks. Just be honorable and enjoy the fruits. I ordered the jasper tumbles also. I did get a pm from Wendy back on May 13 telling me that if I was not happy she would do anything to make it right. I told her I didn't really know if they were Jaspers or not, but if they shined up nicely I would be happy. I told her I would keep her posted on how they tumbled. She never responded to my pm. I did get Montana agates from her when she first posted about them. I was really happy with those. Here are a few pics of the jaspers I got.

There are lots of colors. I just don't know how shiny they will get. I did put a few into a barrel. I will post pics as they progress.

I also buy Montanas from a guy on Ebay,he works out of Missoula,MT,great rough.....I usually horse trade with my Nephew,on most of my Montana rocks,he is very knowledgeable about what is good and whats bad in the waters..
I would just say that Wendy was a newbie on hounding, sold great Montanas, but got skunked on the jaspers and got scared and backed off... Can't bad talk her about not trying to fix it.....Live and learn,we all have been there at one time...

That is exactly what she should have done. Failing to do so illustrates exactly how future buyers can expect to be treated in the event another "mistake" happens. A sense of community requires this be shared. You are welcome to forget. Oh, and your last statement"we have already been there"? I have never had a deal gone South that I didn't fix but offering full refund, immediately.

Misunderstood me Scott-I meant we have all been new at hounding, learning as we go......(Not the fixing problem),yes that was a bad mistake..

Andrea It looks like the rest of the common jasper of which there are tons of on the bars, only once in a while you will get a slab or two which have plume. It is very rare and I have probably only got good plume a few times out of a lot of cuts. I can usually tell if a particular chunk is not going to be worth a hoot, but it is harder to tell if it will have it. I am still usually wrong.
