Finally needed some more oil for the saws. Went to Tractor Supply and they had it for $26.99 a five gallon bucket. All I have ever used in my saws is the hydraulic fluid. Cheap enough. I know some don't like to use it,but I've never had a problem with it.

I tried hydraulic fluid from WalMart in my big saw ( back when I had one) one time and the viscosity was too high. May vary from brand to brand but the stuff I had really bogged the blade down. My big saw worked best with kerosene but I quit using it because I was afraid I'd have a vapor explosion and blow up my shop *L*. Rock shop guy who told me about kerosene has run several big saws on it for years with no problems but it made me nervous....Mel

I used some used ATF in my 18" saw for a number of years and liked it. The solids settled out real good, when it was due for a change I went with mineral oil.

I like my mineral oil...Most of the time I forget to use gloves,so I wanted something that wouldn't affect my hands...
