I think you posted a picture of it once. Wasn't it just an led flashlight? Haha, it's not too far off from that I guess. I just use a single photo light pointed down at a white background. There are four lights hanging there but when I turn more than one on it goes in the wrong direction with the light balance on my cell phone camera and everything gets really dark. I still struggle at times - especially with dark stones. I think the key has been consistency - fine tune it and then do it the same way under the same conditions repeatedly and the results look good overall. Truthfully I learned this from watching your photography here and on Etsy with the little pile of gray rocks - that was my primary motivation and goal to achieve consistency. Here's a look behind the curtain haha. Got my little Idaho Rock Shop catmandewe calendar hanging there - looks like I haven't flipped the month yet haha.  |

I think its consistency too.
take a ton of pics using different conditions. Find what works for you. Test and probe and try new stuff. Until its awesome.
Then do that:
EVERY
SINGLE
TIME

Particularly nice Black Rock plume, Needles Blue and Biggs. Great design selection. In you second photo, the Fischer piece made my eye go straight to the dopped stones underneath your light setup.
