I heard this morning from @arrowheadave that Tom passed away unexpectedly in his sleep over the weekend. I knew Tom only from the boards and private messages we exchanged, but Tom was a generous and encouraging man who will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family as they work through this difficult time. Rest in peace Tom. Roger

I am deeply saddened to learn of Tom passing. He was an excellent craftsman and a kind soul who was frequent with his compliments on this forum. I was very much looking forward to meeting him in person and rock hounding with him on his summer trip thru Montana this summer... He will be missed. His family is in our thoughts. (Thanks Roger and jakesrocks for keeping our rock community informed)

Roger Please check your post. I think you tagged the wrong tom. Indeed I had. Sorry for the confusion. "jawboney" Tom, not "Tom" Tom.

Wow, that's awful news I feel terrible for his family. He and I have been actively chatting regarding various subjects and this comes as a real shock.
RIP Tom.

Condolences to Tom's family. I loved our conversations. He was a funny and most helpful person. I'll miss seeing him on the board and seeing what new thing he was up to.
