First a few color shots
Hollyhock, Alcea rosea 
Lion's tail, Leonotis leonurus (a different kind o' lion tail, lol)
Red sage, Salvia greggii
Pride of Madiera, Echium candicans
A few clouds. Was trying to capture the silver lining. Kinda looks like a bear head (facing right).
Just happened to catch this one. Wow. Looks like a faun (facing left). No horns though...
Like this guy from Narnia. Even the ears. Tell me I'm wrong... 
The very next shot, seconds later. It was already blowing away.
Lastly, my own personal hummingbird. In top of dead hibiscus tree.
He likes those lion tails!
Acrobatics
Mister pollinator, he does his job well.

Scott, that was "faun" not fawn. Mythological beast? I even gave an example. Or you could just call it a poodle, lol.

Liking the Holleyhock flowers,I grow them too...Finding out that the rust fungus they have is a regular thing,in most states that have sun and moisture...(But I still like them)...

Which of 5 is that h-bird ? James, I knew you were going to ask. I'm pretty sure it is a female (so no red), it may be an Anna's hummingbird. That is the best known species in San Diego. I think she has a nest in the avocado tree. Will try to take more pics next week.
