Changed back to a 55 RPM set of rollers to try with thick slurry. Changed from 1:1 ratio to 1:1.85. Or 6 inch to 6 inch, 6 inch to 3.25 inch up drive. Right side barrel doing 55 RPM, left side 30 RPM Speed before equal left and right Speed after ratio change

How do you decide the distance between the shafts?

straight steel, never did cover the shafts. Been running 4 years about full time. Do have large shrink wrap waiting if it gets a tear down. found some really thick stuff.

How do you decide the distance between the shafts? That was easy on this set up. Check out big 1.5 inch pillar blocks on right side shafts, they are butt to butt. Some question such large 1.5 inch shafts. Had some in the bone yard so that's what got used. Well, they came in handy on heavy barrels at high speed, eliminated harmonics and bounce. static load one thing, dynamic loads much higher.
