Hardness is 4. So it can be tumbled but I'm guessing only a matte finish. Probably more for cabs and carvings than tumbling.

I have not had good luck tumbling it. I even tried my dry tumbling method and I wasn't happy. It does make nice cabs though and it's easy to work because it's so soft.

Not Kona - I think you mean the Rolling Hills dolomite cabs on my Etsy store. I haven't had any Kona yet - in fact I've been seriously leaning on this offer. The only thing stopping me is we're hitting the road tomorrow for the McDermitt trip.

Box packed FULL of banded iron and Kona dolomite arrived toady.

The banded iron is very nice, although not a new rock to me. The Kona dolomite I didn't have any of, so as a new type rock to add to my collection, it is my favorite in this box. Very cool stuff!
