Yes, natural. The only thing I did to the photo was crop it. Wonky, yes, that's the word I was looking for! Thanks, Pat . I can leave the focus set on auto, and it will focus on whatever strikes its fancy (usually not what I want it to focus on). Or, set it to manual, and seems like turning the lens doesn't change it. (A glitch in the lens/focus assembly.) Or, like I said, maybe it's my eyes? Have had issues with this old video camera in the past. I have taken over 20K photos (writes to a memory stick) with it. Time to work on it again, or just get a new one! If I opt to repair it again, I may as well fix the (motor or wiring connection) that pops the digital Mini DV tape out when you open the side door. Have two other cameras to cannibalize for parts. Put its setting in close up mode with the flash that gives 2 flashes very fast. That is what I do on all my photos

broseph82 You still have a prize box for this month? I guess it will be a real surprise since no one seen it!

Most people in the past liked to post photos, not saying one has to, just looking for confirmation its ready though

Would probably work with a newer digital camera, but not this moldy oldy. It's more like an antique that should be retired, and just sit on the shelf collecting dust, lol.
This one was a top of the line Sony, when it first came out around 1999. The way the price of electronics has dropped with new technology (and cheaper manufacturing overseas!), I could probably could buy about four or five newer, smaller cameras with better resolution. I think even a cell phone these days (not talking about mine, mind you) takes better pics and videos than my PC100.
ETA - Oops, where's my manners? Nice looking rhodonite cab, Glenn! Glad you were able to get it completed!

Got some nice cabs in this month. I like that gary green/blue rockpickerforever . Of course, you could call it ellypso (sp?) and probably be right, too. And, I'm a sucker for pink and purple stones so glennz01 's rhodonite is pretty sweet, too. And, metalsmith 's noreena is a really great capture. kk 's cabs are killer and Don 's material is unique and beautiful. Y'all are really workin' it! Will be hard to choose.

Very nice. Is that your entry? Did you get your wheels in? Got any preform pics? Havent got my wheels in yet, Graves said they will mail out but that was 2 weeks ago... I'm going to call them tuesday and hope they are around. I will never buy from Graves again. I don't have any preform pics, I probably have a pic of the slab someplace. I have a lot of cabs I started and I got some past the 3rd stage wheel, Not sure if I have any started with natural edges... i'll have to look. I hope my wheels come in for this months contest. If not I still have tools that I can get it to a 300 grit polish though... Need to wear thick leather gloves to use it like that. With the Canadian rhodonite, at least the piece I have, the black is on the edges and has a pink center. Although I do have some alaskan stuff and i'll get more soon when I start slabbing for a guy (I get 1 slab out of every rock and get paid $10/hr using his tools). I'm hoping I won't have to go much longer without wheels though... its going over 2 months since I sent them in...

Can you will borrow a camera from someone soon? If you can get a good pic with a better camera I will allow that to be added since you submitted photos

Very nice. Is that your entry? Did you get your wheels in? Got any preform pics? I don't have any preform pics, I probably have a pic of the slab someplace. Rules: - Cabs entered must be completed by the deadline (they can be started before the month). All entries will require a photo of the slab or rock, preform and finished cab. you funny yes, that is a bunny with a pancake on it's head

Looks like I forgot to take it out after I announced that pre cab photos would no longer be required. I will still try to find a pic of the slab so everyone can see what Canadian rhodonite looks like though. The slab itself is now boxed up. I need to check if I too it off the rules for this month. Edit, here is the slab. I have yet to make / cut out the one on the right still.

Thanks for the offer, but no worries. Just run it as it is, not a big deal.

Thanks, Glenn.
Don't know if this one is any better or not, but here goes.
I just can't do it justice. Don't know if the manual focus on the camera has gone wanky, or if it is my eyes, lol!
Sometimes, you just have to say, "It's good enough!" Your photo looks good in the thumbnail size for the contest, almost as everyone else's photographs. Shrunken size also helps the colors a little

What the heck, I'll throw my hat in the ring.
The rough is from the McDermitt prize box, so assuming it is from there. I believe this is some of the Gary Green jasper, or you could call it Gary Blue? What say you, Diane drocknut ?
Side view
I know, my photos suck. If it is okay, maybe I can retake them tomorrow. No time today.
Assuming you wanted photos of the rough, too? Sorry, no preform, as I just ground at it until I had something resembling a cab, lol.
If you are going to need just one photo, use the middle one. Or did you want me to PM it to you?
Anyway, there it is. Jean
It can be called Gary Green but it is more appropriate to call it Larsonite. Nice cab.

Easy to remember, will think of "Gary (Green) Larson (-ite)" lol.
Thanks, Diane.
