Restricted to tumbles FINISHED this month. Ties decided by first earlier entry Identify your species... one offs and random unnamed varieties allowed. Just provide all the data ya can. Locality, jasper/agate/obsidian from xyz... Vote for the best entry. If that entry is yours, be selfish! PRIZE: MFRB of Mojave Desert Jaspers and Agates I hounded a couple weeks ago.

The time needed depends on the type of rock. I'd say around six months. I'm not sure what the world rock tumbling competiton's time is. It ends in August, but I don't remember when it started.

I had no idea there WAS a world rock tumbling competition so I looked it up. Entries begin January 1st and deadline is June 1st to enter, submittal deadline is August 15th. So you can have about 8-1/2 months or as little as 2-1/2 months (minus shipping time) to tumble your stones. Everyone is shipped the same material and entry fee basically covers the cost of material. I like that idea. We could start a competition July 1 and end December 15th giving 5-1/2 months to finish. I would be game if we can get enough interest...

Maybe i will do the first one with lavic stone. It is free and entry would ge postage. Not trying to make money off this thingy.
