Yup, ran some glass, put up some so-so pics. two months ago on vib. tumbler thread [Apr 17th] in "homemade equipment". Didn't get perfect polish, but good one, need to work on the polish and photography. I haven't gotten any edge frosting or pitting at all with the three batches I've run thru it. It will sit for a while now, ma is getting her new kitchen this summer, me be labor.

@shotgunner, I took a pic. of some Dollar Tree "decorative glass beads" as an example. These beads have ridden all three batches I've run in the homemader. They have seen 200g, 600g, AO prepolish, and TinOx polish each run. The ones below the rocks [rocks were last load run, and the cracks in the wood are healed] are new out of the pkg. and the ones above have seen the wear. The used ones are not as shiny as the new, but not bad considering they ran with the wood. Been running the glass as a standard of comparison and a cushion. jamesp, tear drywall off exterior walls and fur out to 5 1/2", tear down Firtex ceiling and 900 bazillion ft. of 1x4 that held it up, figure out old wiring strategy and plan new, install new, sand and finish tongue and groove fir flooring [long protected by loose lino, thankfully], then insulate walls and replace drywall. Then prime and paint, install new cabinets, put up backsplash tile, and all the little stuff that falls into the big picture, including hauling off residue. This isn't a farmout job, with the exception of cabinet construction and installation [I'll help], it's me and ma. AND YOU ASKED IF IT'S DONE YET?

No tile floor, natural wood w/much Varathane just like the rest of the house; this is the last room. Front room, dining room and our bedroom is oak, rest of the house fir flooring. Bathroom floor is covered. We are putting up tile backsplash and formica countertops. Neither of us like granite or Corian, not due to cost, just don't like it.

Nice, so all work but building the boxes done by you. Save you $5k plus for sure. Granite another $2k saved... Have fun!

@shotgunner, it isn't as much the saving of money that motivates us, it's more getting what we want the way we want it. We aren't rich, but fairly comfortable, and we do dance to the beat of our drummer, agree on most everything, and don't have to chase outside people around to get stuff right; been there. Even well vetted contractors have given us fits in the past. No, it isn't fun, I dislike this kind of work, but we get what we want, certainly not as fast, but at a suitable level of quality.

Well, as a contracting sales rep, I can tell you, contractors suck. Just not my boss!
