I wish I knew years ago what a good polish this takes. I'm sorry I don't know how to capture the polish in a photo though. But I can see that these are worth re-shaping into actual cabs and gems. http://instagram.com/p/BGhOWziDWfj http://instagram.com/p/BGe5600jWQW I have a large piece of this rough I was thinking of having made into a sphere but I don't know if the sphere would show as much of the transparency/moss. Maybe it should be slabbed instead? I think it's about six pounds. At one time I tried to sell it but no takers so I surmise this material hasn't got much financial value because it wasn't much above the price of shipping. But I like the way it looks... I also don't know why sometimes my instagram photos post OK here and sometimes they don't. If they've started posting properly again, I'll be able to share a lot more photos here, at least until Insta blocks me from reposting my own photos again.

Yes. Best made into cabs. Phenom material. Rarely say this, too good to tumble. But fun to aggravate cab makers by tumbling stuff too good to be tumbled. After all, this is a tumbling forum.
Where did that stone come from peach ?

Very nice batch. Us rock tumblers have to have some fun with high quality materials once in a while too. Cant let the cabbers hog it all. I have been known to turn a nice finished tumble into a cab on occasion though.

Where did that stone come from peach ? It came from an estate, I think. It was around 25 year ago. I keep finding stuff from the old days. One day I will finally clear enough space to start buying new material again!

I can see that these are worth re-shaping into actual cabs and gems. That's exactly why I started cabbing. I just didn't know what to do with tumbled stones. Lovely material indeed. Strange there were no takers. Those are a cut above. I know you can get dendritic opal on ebay, maybe this has depressed the price; maybe not so good material as you have there tho'.

I clearly live on the wrong continent! Amazing that you have rocks like that, i would be out digging and rock hunting every Day. Nice stuff! I actually live in southeast Louisiana-- no rocks here. I found them in people's estates, old boxes in garages, yard sales etc. But I don't do it any more because I ended up with more than I can work, and I'm not too good at the sales or trading. Whenever I do a trade, I end up with even more rocks than before. :-) I'm trying to embed a photo of my rock table I posted on Instagram today but Insta might be preventing me again. Arghhhh.
