Looking forward to getting my box.

Had no idea how beautiful this material was until I saw it up close and personal. Next time we'll stay a little longer. I'd love to enter the contest, @shotgunner.

The old books talk about the area being over collected and played out. It never ceases to amaze me how much nice material is out there. Even on the big flat where the clubs always park there is always colorful material to be found. Sounded like they were bombing out on the lake a few days ago. It would have been less peaceful then. We are 31 miles away by road and the artillery or bombing shakes the house and keeps the dogs nervous.

Ya but John, those flyboys put on one hell of a show if you're there when they're bombing.
Reminds me that I still have a box of Lavic that needs cutting.

Plus 300#+ yard rocks still diggable too. Nope it's not where the clubs go!

We were driving home from somewhere once and had a bomber coming out of the range. Felt like it was going to land on the truck's roof it was so low. Then once on way to Death Valley had two fighter planes buzz me doing low altitude flights. We have two fighters from Edwards that regularly fly over and hit after burners right by the Calico Mtns. Double sonic booms shake house pretty well. About 5 or 6 miles away.

Double sonic booms shake house pretty well. About 5 or 6 miles away. A few weeks ago, a French aircraft approached England without making contact, so they scrambled a couple of jets that went sonic not far from us. This is what happened to a guy more directly under the flight-path: picture

When the navy left Miramar NAS a few years back, the base was turned over to the Marines. Now it's not so much the jets, as it is the helicopters and Ospreys. I've not yet had a picture jump off the wall, but they sure do start vibrating pretty good when one of those things goes thump-thump-thumping over. Sometimes in the middle of the night. What captbob said, NICE LAVIC. Some swell stuff.

We absolutely kicked their asses.
