I've just finished a 800 sc grind on a mix of phiroza agate and unakite, the grind ran for approximately 10 days and most stones are ready for polishing (going to run them in 1200 sc to ensure a good polish) however i had to discard several stones as they had developed several cracks on the surface

I've been rock tumbling for a couple of years and not had this problem before, any ideas/thoughts on what may have caused it so I can avoid it again?
