Good luck down there, and have a good time. I'm heading to Florida in a couple weeks, but my vehicle will be full of beach towels and board shorts instead.

Destination is camp at Salt Springs Florida. 40 miles inland from Ormond Beach. Tried to make this structure as low maintenance as possible. To many spend their off time maintaining fancy property. This one about bulletproof. Average 2 months a year for 15 years hanging out here. Problem-Florida dwelling insurance is off the chart expensive. never saw that coming. www.flickr.com/photos/67205364@N06/sets/72157632324991181

White Springs (coral river) is one heck of a hike from Lake George. You hitting that on the way down, way back or making a side trip there once you are at the lake?
That's a pretty area around Salt Springs, it's on my route to and from Jacksonville when I head up there. Much nicer driving through the Nat. Forest than taking the interstate each way.
If you are calling your camp being at Salt Springs, you on the west side of the lake? Lake George is big (by Florida standards) for those that don't know it, probably the 2nd or 3rd largest lake in Florida after Okeechobee.

Have fun, be careful, don't feed the gators... Ed

So I was just thinkin'... (sometimes I crack myself up) and wonderin' what some folks think seeing this rig driving down the road. I'm more along the lines of "that looks like the makings of some fun", but I imagine you get some looks!

You're not far from the big flea market my folks like to hit when we're down in New Smyrna.

Beautiful Jim just fantastic!!! Does the lovely Maggot get to go with you??? That is not allowed. She likes to wade in the water too much Bill. Basic gator bait. Dogs at one time were not allowed in the Okeefenokee Swamp in a boat. Gators target dogs. A man near here trained Jack Russell to coax them out of the water for the kill. Gators can't resist a dog.

Last turn to the right heading north on 19 about 6 miles south of SaltSprings. 97th Street. Yes, west side of Lake and last privately owned lot. Ocala nat forest my north boundary. So all the big shy gators hang out to avoid the 5 miles of public property south of me. #2 biggest, Ave 11 feet deep and gets rough when the wind picks up. Better have V-hull. My little Devil boat goes thru the shallows where the water lilies that keep the water calm. You know all about how rough shallow water gets on a large body of water.

Have fun, be careful, don't feed the gators... Ed Probably won't sell a single pit for a week. They buy them heavy just before holidays. Bumper week last week, then dead. Go figure. Kinda figured. Daylight arriving. Had to go inside, mosquito time. Why do they start partying right at day break, oh yea, breakfast. They do that in Alabama too ? First time using a smart phone for internet. Got a note with a stylus pen. Not used to using it. Ran water thru the coffee maker to purge the dead bugs. The water from the Artesian in this micro area is Rich in minerals. Next door neighbor tried to open a 'designer water company'. Neighbors went crazy fighting him. Even Coca Cola was interested. But the community killed his plans.
