I have definitely missed something somewhere.... Whatever the case, James, be cool. Ed Yes. Cool is best. I am angry. But not out of control. Neighbor trouble awkward.

How long you down here Jim? edit: James Yea, a Jim and a James. That would come in handy. Visit duration dictated by demands at home too. I can stop watering when it cools down in Atlanta about late Sept and used to stay for long visits. This trip was for work/assesment/some play. Why do you ask ?

I'm heading to Jacksonville the 9th & 10th. Figured I could stop by and knock off a couple neighbors on the way through without anyone even knowing I was there. I work cheap.

Plans for a bunch to come down at that time. Steve Wally Jeff Dave, maybe more. However I am on hold in sorts. I know you are intrigued and would love to sling some lead. You know you are more than welcome to come by. Anytime whether I am here or not. Stop by Red's house and ask where Jim Price lives. By the way, two names, Jim and James comes in handy for telemarketers. They ask for legal name James. That way I can hang up on them fast. If you are headed up 19 let me know. Got to meet the Captn .

Check in and let us know that things are okay over there. All is well. Tractor mowed bush/grass for 5 hours. Me did lion's share of needed chain saw work. Did a night mission and around juniors vehicle parked around back where no one can see it. He has a little lady stashed there to. Empty lot across from the canal Gdaddyshouse is on. My Go devil will go in there, canal not passable by prop drive. Will be fishing under juniors window. That will make him squirm.I pulled a tree out of that canal with a big Go devil years ago for his Grandaddy. I know the set up. May set up a still camera for a few days and watch juniors comings and goings. Pawn shop said he tried to pawn some guns...a felon pawing guns ? Betting he is associating with known felons, believe that is a minor ?? parole violatoin. Not good enough.Need a felon.

Keeping busy and on junior's trail - all good. Don't think there is a problem pawning guns, unless it is a stolen gun.
Hope you can get to the part where your vacation starts feeling more like a vacation than work.

Keeping busy and on junior's trail - all good. Don't think there is a problem pawning guns, unless it is a stolen gun. Hope you can get to the part where your vacation starts feeling more like a vacation than work. Been doing this clean up trip for years. Sometimes staying for a week, often staying for 2 months. Clean up trip allows taking tools home and returning with toys. Either way works. Winter is easy, got a wood stove and never turn A/C on. Like winter here a lot. Tonight the kayak goes in the lake. The point is great fishing. Got high water, high water in warm season = great fishing. Always. There is a 1 acre rock bottom adjacent to my place that holds bad as copperhead bluegills. No one knows about it. Every cast fish hits. The bass Ave 3 pounds. Drag kayak with gear with ATV 800 feet to Lake and put in, easy. I put cabin away from lake- blind mosquitos reap havoc 3 times a year. Spider nests follow. Rich guy bought next door lot. I sold it years ago, so a resale. Lol, he put bamboo in to block view of my redneck camp. He is 1.5 acres/100 feet frontage. I am 4.3 acres with 160 frontage on east facing shore, and frontage 800 feet away facing north. So dual frontage. East frontage harsh with wave action. North frontage very secluded, next neighbor 8 miles along lake shore. Salt Springs run exits into lake about 2 miles north. Elevated salt level holds tarpon, shrimp, redfish, croakers, flounder etc. Big breeder shrimp start moving up st. Johns July. Limit is 5 gallons per day using cast net. Must find out if they are running now. L. George is also a commercial blue crab fishery. They to are large. Large being 22 to 25 inches claw tip to claw tip when held open. October they molt and go into the spring runs. Catch at night with light. No shell, just meat. Also a commercial catfish lake. Red fish have been messing up their trot lines in recent years.40 pounders. Those guys going for 1 to 3 pound cats for eesale. They bait hooks on reeled trot line with fresh water shrimp caught in the lake. Put the reel in the fridge and let the meat dry on the hook. Then take them out and set them across the lake in the old bombing range area. Lots of poles in the water, built in 40s. Fish attractors and boat hull busters. A lot of one eyed crappie in the range area. Big crappie, 2 to 3 pounds. They relate the one eye thing to the bombing. They do practice laser bombing now. Some serious jets way high altitude. This weekend some very powerful speed boats on lake. Dang noisy air boats too. Air boats will start gator hunting in August at night. About have to sleep with ear plugs then. This stylus pen is pretty fast to type with, comes with android note pad. Figured how to get on Etsy too using pad. Responded to 3 fire pit sales past 2 days. Told them I was on vacation and shipment would get done when returned. Never used phone to access net. Kinda blown away. Keep wife at home well managed. Hold farm down. She loves it when I go away. That's a tough job, fighting back that jungle. Got a gas powered sprayer with 30 gallon tank. Nice chain saw. Does OK garage. Contractors 125 hp tractor mows up to 4 inch trees with clutch protected 7 foot bush hog. I drop small trees and he runs over them. Quick chip mulch. Easy clean up. He made the bush hog. 3/8 inch plate construction. Mesmerized to watch that thing mow palmettos at 7 mph. They are like 4 inch rubber hoses, really hard to mow. It is highlight of trip watching that monster.

Removed pump and pressure tank. 50 psi/50 gpm system. Will take home. Bring a smaller pump each visit. Too much mental stress being robbed over and over. Used it to clean outside of cabin. Well, cabin can just be unsightly. I am only here to sleep and bathe, do the outdoors. Hang out on the porch and hop in the pool. Camping.
The only grocery store in town closed this year. Chain Dollar General moved but does not sell meat and veggies. Town has a lot of methods issues. Its primary population is lake front and RV crowd so not a ghost town.
The territory is just too awesome in a natural sense and perfect for water and nature lovers. But empty housing being infiltrated by the bad guys. Interesting evolution. Watching with interest. Me can deal with the situation if valuables are not left here.
Would be a great hunting grounds for vigilante. Not gonna be me. But makes a person think that way.Shame.

You talking about your well pump? I recently replaced my irrigation well pump with larger, so have a spare just sitting here if you want it, but reused the pressure tank, so not one of them to give.
If you are trying to sell, maybe sprucing up the grounds would be helpful.
Again, sorry it has come to this. Vacations aren't supposed to be stressful.

There *is* money out there (not here where I'm at, but...) *and* people looking for places like yours, James. If there are lots of places around the lake up for sale it seems a realtor could do an ad campaign in some of the big cities down there and draw some of the money people into these properties. It would take property owners semi-joining together to promote the area as "the lost nature" of Florida. Just what you have written about the fishing and shellfish there is enticing. Getting away from the asphalt and concrete jungles seems like would be appealing to lots of people (that have money). If nothing else, a big developer might be interested. Just some thoughts from someone that has no idea what he's talking about. Ed

"money" doesn't want to live - or vacation then leave the house unattended/unsecured - amongst such folks. Nor where there isn't a Publix and Starbucks within a mile.
Nice as that plot of land is, it's a tough sell for the asking price.

"money" doesn't want to live - or vacation then leave the house unattended/unsecured - amongst such folks. Nor where there isn't a Publix and Starbucks within a mile. Nice as that plot of land is, it's a tough sell for the asking price. Who says they have to leave the house there unsecured? I'm not "money" so I really don't know the mentality there. But there are RV's and campers...the young tech kids who have a yearning for nature and all things earthy and who have some good paying jobs would take that in stride...figuring it's their part of paradise and also an investment in the future. My little town is on US331, commonly referred to as "The Beach Trail" in years past. This highway basically comes from Montgomery and dead ends at "bloody" US98 which more or less runs the Florida panhandle. Thousands of vehicles come through town during the summer traveling south and north. Many of these (expensive) vehicles are dragging some equally expensive toys behind them...gulf-worthy boats, really nice fifth-wheel campers, smaller campers, etc.,. There is a constant line of vehicles. On weekends I do my best not to go into town because I know at times the road will be so congested through our little two traffic light town. Millions of dollars of vehicles and toys come through there....there is money out there. I'm sure that down in central Florida there is money in the large cities (and outside of the cities). I really think that if these properties were put out in front of the right populations there would be interest. Maybe the price would scare off some people, but not all. To some people going to this type of property would be an adventure and Starbucks would be the last thing they would want to see...matter-of-fact, getting away from Starbucks would be an attraction to them. Sure, the sheeple of the world would think this is a barbaric location...but, there are those who would see this as paradise, and I believe their number is growing. At one time property along US98 could be bought for a couple of hundred dollars an acre. We're talking beachfront property. I remember when San Destin didn't exist, when the beach east of Destin was deserted. (Wish I had been old enough and had some money to have bought some of that!) Now, as you know, property sales by the square foot and at an astronomical cost. One day, James' lake will be some much sought after property as the population grows and people seek places to retreat to. If it doesn't come to that day, then things will have happened that make even the gulf-front lots not that attractive...and all will be a moot point anyway. But, what do I know? I'm just trying to turn enough profit to pay my health insurance premiums.<sigh> Ed

If you are trying to sell, maybe sprucing up the grounds would be helpful. Again, sorry it has come to this. Vacations aren't supposed to be stressful. It is a powerful pool pump. I liked it for its raw power. Had it plumbed up with 2 inch lines joepro. Thanks for the offer. Got a couple of pumps at home. Will not use a pressure tank as I am taking it home too. On/off operated, simple and basic. The pool is fed by artesian, needs no pump, and delightful clear water. I like to build bonfires next to the pool in the heat of the day and cook my brain sitting next to the fire and then jump in the 72 F water over and over. Kinda weird but exhilarating. Thanks again for the pump offer. Stopped by police station, met my police gal and another deputy there. Told them about my visit and threats. Told them he was not going to call it in because he is guilty. Told them his girlfriend witnessed my rage too. She knows he is guilty. Innocent person would have reported that visit. I clearly explained how I would tear his front door off. Made him look at the cheap hinges real close. Asked him how long did he think it would take for me to snatch the door off.
