Nice ones indeed! Was always amazed when I had the ranch up their and hounded the area, at just how many old pits there were off in the bushes and how many poppy types were in the region.. I truly believe my buddy and I only scratched the surface. Rough country, tough access and very hot much of the year but great rock hounding. Many of the pits we found were buried under manzanita thickets twelve feet tall and one had to crawl on one's belly beneath the brush to hunt the jasper. I'm still sorry I did not mine the hillside across from the house more as there were boulders just full of large lenses of poppy jasper and of course, right before we sold the place I found a pit showing nice golden and white poppy I never got to really dig at all. Dang, I left a lot of good jasper in the Firefly pit too! Oh well, If only Commiefornia didn't grow to suck so badly so quickly *L*. Still like it better here in America....Mel

Mel, we all need to get together and buy back your old ranch, (or a more Hornitos jasper rich property if you know of one) mine the hell out of it, and then resell it!

I agree with fernwood, estate sales and yard sales have led me to some great material.
