I am pretty new to tumbling, right now I just wreck rocks. But after trying to just hand polish this one, I knew enough to not toss it in the tumbler. Has anyone seen anything like this before? It was found at a construction site in Plymouth, MN. Anyhow. I usually don't say much and learn through other people's posted - but I haven't ever come across anything like this before.

it doesn't leave a mark when scratched with a knife. Hand polishing was taking the white banding off though.

Might be a laker that I call a paint agate. You can google it and get a few results that look similar. When you got through the outside bands yours has quartz inside.

Thanks! I find lake agates all over the place. They are generally small and unimpressive. - this one was just so different I couldn't figure it out.
