Below, I repost the pictures from this tutorial with English translation, but I think, the pictures are very descriptive on their own. Have fun!
Cold Waves Medal
I offer this fresh, green olivine jade medal design for hot summer days.
Materials you’ll need:
- 18 gauge dead soft wire
- 26 gauge dead soft wire
- 1 pc, 2cm long teardrop (top drilled)
Cut 2 pcs, 25 cm long 18 gauge wires. Prepare a small loop in the middle of one of them.
Starting from the middle, wire the two pieces together with 26 gauge wire, 4-4 cm long on both sides of the loop. In the middle, leave aprx. 15 cm long tail, you’ll use that for securing the decoration later on.
As shown on the picture, bend the frame into a teardrop shape and let the wires cross on the top.
From one of the back 18 gauge frame wire form a bail-loop.
Wire the two front wire around the hoop.
Place the jade in the middle, and string the 26 gauge wire through in the drilled holes in both direction.
Bend one of the back 18 gauge wire across the back of the jade, this will support the jade and ensures that it wouldn’t move out of the frame.
Bring the wire back to the front and make a spiral decoration.
Bring 2 more 18 gauge wire to the front, and bend it to a desired shape – this will prevent the jade to move out from the frame on the front.
With the leftover 26 gauge wire on the bottom we secure the decoration to the loop. Bend and curve the leftover 18 gauge wire, and secure it back to the frame with some 26 gauge wire.
Cut and hide all the wire ends.
Good luck to make this medal, and have fun.
