Skill sawed a 5/8" strip out of thin wall 6" SDR 35 pipe. Fits like a glove inside the 6" sch 40. If you make a long 6" barrel and after a couple of years of sawing the pipe off to replace the end cap the open end pipe starts to get thin. Like after 3 years. This sleeve should add life to the older pipe on the open end. Basically a long piston ring. Had the pipe laying around and thought I would give it a try. Guessing sleeve will last about a year using SiC 30 at 30 RPM. should be no need to glue it in.

You can use much thicker municipal pipe(sch 80 ??). it is darn heavy though. And I am not sure if standard sch 40 fittings fit it. I believe they will. It is hard to find and expensive.
I think sch 80-120-160 has the same OD, just less ID.
