I hate to say it, but those photos look to be "augmented." Here is another video (I don't speak French, but the video is certainly accurate.)
It is still very beautiful, just not as technicolor as some of those photos would have you believe.

Just like our slabs the colors become more vivid when they are wet!

Nice video. Looks like the setting for a shot in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Drago." The music has a Brian Eno quality.
Nice post, thanks,
Colin

Just like our slabs the colors become more vivid when they are wet! (forehead slap) DOH! Yeah, I totally see that now. I still wonder if they're THAT much more vivid, but then again, I have seen the difference between wet and dry, and it is HUGE. See, another case of better to keep your mouth shut and let them think you a fool than open your mouth and prove them right. (for me, in case there's any question) I swear I wasn't trying to be a troll, because I really wanted to believe that they looked like that, but the internet age has shown me repeatedly to trust virtually nothing. I appreciate your kind response, please keep sharing this kind of cool stuff (and correcting me when I need it!) I am enjoying learning from you all, truly. Thanks! -Eric
