I was getting ready to send in over a pound of sterling scrap and while I had it out to weigh it I pulled out a bunch of 4-5" long pieces of 20 gauge to play with. I made a few of these simple rings. There is a single solder added right between the swirls. These look great in person. The photo is about 10X size so imperfections are not as bad in person. These were not planned at all. I was just practicing make swirls with scrap then decided to pull the swirls to make them 3 dimensional. When I seen what they looked like I thought they would be neat as earrings. Thanks for looking Chuck

Very nice. Good use of scrap! Very quick and easy. I will make a bunch for kids as give away items. I know my nieces and kids of coworkers would like them. Chuck

Hey Chuck you can.make sterling balls from wire. Heat it til it goes round n shiny. Let cool and use it on pendants edges or at the bail. When heating it on a charcoal or fire brick don't heat it beyond shiny. Measure same length wire to make same size balls. Measure progressively shorter lengths to make a seris of balls of smaller n smaller. Take a pile of silver scra n melt it into a blob. Pound it flat with a hammer and reheat a little n pound some texture into it. Then use for backing for your cab bezel and let it stIck out or put a series of small cabs on it.

Very cool. I love the earrings. I usually reserve the good long scraps for earwires.

The ear wire spirals could be used as a "cage" to hold small quartz crystals.
