I think, do to your relationship with the shops on Drummond island, that you should consider having a punch die produced in the shape of the island.
Then you can punch a bunch and make rings in various sizes for resale in those stores.
A hand operated lever press should make punching out little islands quite fast and efficient.

Pretty cool project! Pick up a good set of needle files for touchup work and fine tuning shapes and inside curves. The "I need this" tool list can be never ending

The "I need this" tool list can be never ending I am just happy my kid loved these rings. Everything else I have touched for the last week are now in the scrap silver bin. Ruined some really nice cabs in the process too trying to remove them from the settings. Need to take a breather and regroup with a calm head. Chuck

Chuck we've all had days like that, so don't get discouraged I have both a purpose made bench knife and a modified kitchen paring knife I use to unmount stones. On really delicate pieces I have a set of dental tools of which one was the perfect shape, so I dressed it down a bit thinner. I very gently pry up one area of the bezel fold, then in very small increments, work my way around the cab. sometimes it takes two or more passes, so patience is a must. Any tiny dings can be filed lightly so they disappear and rough edges on the rim of the bezel can be filed down also. Hang in there. you have those blunders out of the way now, so you are unlikely to repeat them. Never fear though, more gremlins will pop up on a regular basis

Cool rings! It's great the kid has the patience to steel wool till the ring has a uniform look.

Very nice Chuck. My grandson wanted a ring as soon as I started doing silver, too. I made him a nice little lapis ring. That boy is CRAZY for lapis!

As soon as I got my tools My 11 year old started asking me to make him a ring. He is really into bowling ( at least 20 games every week) so I made one with that theme and the other is the outline of Drummond Island. Thanks for looking Chuck Lovely rings but re Drummond Island, I couldn't work that out so I'm glad you told us!
