This is my very first batch of beach rocks and dog-walking-dirt road-pick ups that I tumbled for one week. They are all wet and I am so excited to see how great they already look. I even have a granite with a line of copper running through it! I know they won't all be this shiny when finished, but I sure would like to see a bunch of them turn out awesome. Any advice on what to do next would be greatly appreciated. I have a Thumlers A-R 12 and I have two 3lb smaller barrels; saving one for the polish only stage. New to all this forum stuff as well. Hope I did the right thing on getting the pics to upload.

Cindy- Those are some beauties! I would say to let them go a bit longer, if your heart can take it, in stage 1. Some of those look like they're ready for stage 2, but I would put them back in with stage 1. From there, if you don't have tumbling grit, I would strongly recommend The Rock Shed. I am relatively new as well, and Shawn has good prices, and he's very responsive. Get yourself one of the Grit Packs so that you have some of everything, and probably some plastic media to tumble with when you get to the polish stage.
Do you have multiple barrels? I can't say first-hand how much of a difference that will make, but that was strongly recommended by multiple sources. It's not inexpensive to buy four barrels, but even if you have two, that should help.
I love the green stones, they seem to always catch my eye when I'm on the hunt! Good luck!

You've got a few nice pieces of unakite in there. I especially like the one in the center of the first picture. Those tumble up nice. I'm trying to kick the granite habit, but I still come home with one occasionally.

I remember you showing pics of your unakite. I tend to gravitate to them as well. I really would like to get the granite to shine up, especially the one with copper in it. If my counter tops can get shiny, I am hoping to do the same. Maybe I will have to separate them out and run them by themselves. I enjoyed all of your pics from your June foray to Lake Superior, beautiful rocks all the way around!

The granite will shine, it just undercuts. The black areas seem to be the worst. So if you can find granite with as little black as possible, it's better.
