Went up into the interior of BC last week for a little prospecting for agates etc... Brought the cam along for some shots to bring you along.
First three are just scenic shots of the area me and a buddy were in.
This is a basalt bluff that can produce agates in seams or nodules, this is what we were looking for.
A little of what I picked up around the cliffs edge, float material, and in the slide. They are seam and nodule agates, if you look close, one of the agates formed is still stuck in the basalt. Some of these nodules cut open can produce amethyst centers at this bluff, just haven't got around to cutting them.
The next day up to the top of this mountain at a abandoned quartz pit. The white spots you see in the second picture is white quartz sticking out of the ground that was crushed and used for garden landscape rock, we were searching for the optical clears that weren't smashed during the mining process. For the short time spent there before the rain hit, we dug out a couple of small ones.
