The nodule is 5" in diameter. I got it in a trade I made in the group. It's awesome and will go in with my specimens

Nice hammer slicing. I did that with a fossil once, but used a small wedge.

Can't say for absolute certain but I'd lay odds it's a Brazilian agate nodule. I have several that look almost identical.

Looks like it is time to get a bigger saw. That one will look great cut and polished. I started with a 6 inch trim saw and now I have it, a 10 inch, a 18" and a 30 inch. You can never have too many saws or rock to cut.

No I hit the agate with a hammer, but hitting the saw may be a good idea also lol
