Hi all,
A couple of weeks ago, I posted some pics in the "Rock Identification Library" board of some of the rough I picked up from a storage unit. I've managed to slab some of the pieces, so I thought I share some of what I've slabbed so far.
This first one nobody had an ID for. I really like the mix of colors. If anyone has some guesses, I'd like to hear them!

This is Indian Paint Stone. It slabbed OK, but when washing the oil off and just generally handling the slabs, they are starting to break apart in places where no fracture lines are apparent!

This one was ID'd as Birdseye Rhyolite or Hornitos Poppy. These pieces have a kind of gritty feel to them, I think they will have to be stabilized. You can't see it in the picture, but the edges of most of the red dots where they meet the white have very fine voids. They look like hairline fractures encircling the red dots.

A slab of one of the pieces I thought might be Ocean Jasper. Wasn't really sure in the dim light of the storage unit, but I am sure glad I decided to take a chance on it!

Rainforest Jasper. I really like the colors!

This last piece someone guessed might be Luna Agate. I'm no expert, but it looks like a good possibility. The first picture is a slab in the same orientation as what I originally showed the face cut rough. The second picture is with the rough turned 90 degrees. It gives the slab a different look

Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoyed!
