My neighbor give this rock that his dad found in Florida. That's all he told me. Testing: a file just skids across like flint. No reaction to mild acid. The guy ask me what it was but I didn't know?   |

Then I will give that rock to
my kids (men) because I'm too old. When rocks are more important than sex, you are too old or maybe just gave up.

I thought jasper but is there a type of jasper? Like agates, there are many different types.

spiceman, there is a rare outcropping of that colored jasper that was found in the Ocala area in Central florida . I have a few slabs of it somewhere and don't even ask me to try and find it among the 30,000lbs of rocks I have out back, lol

i have a rock or two like that one tumbling right now, green and reddish purple. but mine are from the Yukon and northern BC. its a very hard rock. the metal didnt scratch it, it scratched the metal. and its tumbling nicely, very little wearing, keeping the size but smoothing out. i will try to dig them out and take a picture
