My neighbor give this rock that his dad found in Florida. That's all he told me. Testing: a file just skids across like flint. No reaction to mild acid. The guy ask me what it was but I didn't know?

Then I will give that rock to my kids (men) because I'm too old. When rocks are more important than sex, you are too old or maybe just gave up.

Well then that's great because I have it and would be more the happy to let you have it back. :) But the bad part is you have to drive to Ohio to get it. Sorry

spiceman, there is a rare outcropping of that colored jasper that was found in the Ocala area in Central florida . I have a few slabs of it somewhere and don't even ask me to try and find it among the 30,000lbs of rocks I have out back, lol

Well, I haven't tumbled it yet but I'm feeling better about the rock with all the positive responses.

i have a rock or two like that one tumbling right now, green and reddish purple. but mine are from the Yukon and northern BC. its a very hard rock. the metal didnt scratch it, it scratched the metal. and its tumbling nicely, very little wearing, keeping the size but smoothing out. i will try to dig them out and take a picture

Yes, this rock is very hard but won't get to tumble it till after the Lavic contest is over.

Sounds good and thank you. Can't wait to see it. I still would like to see the final result, if that's OK. Dale
