Hey all, I have two small pre-sawn nodule halves and I'm wondering if anyone on the board would be willing to polish them either as a trade for rough or as a paid service. I had a bad experience so I'd really only be comfortable with doing an arrangement like this with an established member. If rough's your game I'll be making a stop at Rabbit Springs for thundereggs when my family and I drive up to Montana in a couple of weeks if fluorescent material interests you! Otherwise I have miscellaneous lapidary rough like plasma agate, mhpj, and tiffany stone and will provide pictures if those interest you instead. Here's what the Rabbit Springs material looks like. orerockon.com/fluorescent_eggs.htm#jackrabbitThanks!

Shannon there's a very good lapidary club right in your general area - it used to be called Los Altos gem etc. but from their website I see that they have now merged with the Redwood City club. Looks like they are closed at the moment for renovation but reopening in September open {edit: I read that wrong}. If you're ever able to make the drive out to my general area there's a good club Antioch Lapidary that makes a full shop available to members, again for a modest fee. I have an acquaintance on Facebook who does flat polishing - last I saw she was just getting it going as a business. I shot her a note to see how it's going and such so I'll let you know if there's anything there worth pursuing. One of these days I need to get serious about learning to polish flats. I've had zero patience or success with my attempts so far.

You're welcome. BTW - both of those clubs (Los Altos and Redwood City) are having their annual shows in the next two months. At the smaller shows like these a good percentage of the vendors are local club members and it can be a good opportunity to network a little - find out who in the club does what type of lapidary, polishing etc. Clubs are also a good way to learn where the good collection sites are.
September 24 - 25: REDWOOD CITY, CA Sequoia Gem & Mineral Society Community Activities Building 1400 Roosevelt Avenue Hours: 10 - 5 daily
October 22 - 23: LOS ALTOS, CA Peninsula Gem & Geology Society Los Altos Youth Center One No. San Antonio Road Hours: 10 - 5 daily

Shannon just so you know I got nowhere with the lady from Facebook. She's still trying to get her shop setup.
